How To Have A Mid-Century Wardrobe

I get the feeling that dressing like the mid century will be in fashion so, and for those people who don't like, or can't pull off that care free hipster look, but still want to be unique, this would be a great new wardrobe for you. I like to keep the mid century fashion in two different categories, first retro, maybe a little pin up type look, and then second hip, bright neon, round look. The first one is obliviously '50s style and the second is more '60s, when I decided I wanted to dress like this, I just started reading articles and looking at outfits on Pinterest , (which is a great way to get ideas about your interests) I didn't have that much budgeted for my wardrobe, so I started shopping at some little stylish thrift stores here in town. When you walking in to a clothes store that does have more than one of any item, it takes a good eye and a little practice to find what your looking for. When I go in to a store I look at my size rack, and don't skip over items with out touching it. I look for polk-a-dots, stripes, and cheetah prints whenever and wherever, because mix and matching patterns is the key to any classy wardrobe. depending on which type of style your looking for is what color you have to have an eye for, if it's the retro, then be on the lookout for reds and yellows, those are great poppy colors to mix with black and white, try not to do a lot of brown, tans, or pastilles. If you decided to go with the '60s then it's basically the same style with prints, and poppiness, but the colors change a little, you want to look for orange, hot pinks, bright greens, still yellows, but not much red. look for things that a=have rounded ends, sleeves, or collars. no matter which style you pick, you need to look for skirts or pants with a high waist and dresses or blouses that pinch to flatter at the natural waist. It's very important to make the colors really pop. A few of my favorite places to shop online are "Unique Vintage", "Rosegal", "ModCloth", and my most loved "Thread up". A great place to find vintage hair styles and retro makeup is of course Pinterest.
